About the Author

I grew up in a poor corner of rural Michigan, where the horizon was a tree line and travel was something other people did. I married young — my husband worked the auto line — and we built a full, loud, loving life: five children, and more grandchildren than I can fit in a photograph.

There was never money for the places I dreamed about. So I read. On summer nights camping up north, while the fire burned low, I disappeared into romance novels — into far-off harbors and golden coasts and the kind of grand, certain love that felt a world away from the one I could afford. Those books were my passage out, and my way back to myself.

So I finally wrote my own. Enchanter of the Tides sails through every beautiful, faraway place I spent a lifetime longing to see — ten women, ten voyages, and the kind of being-truly-seen I always believed love was meant to be. These are my stories of escape, my stories of romance, my stories of the life I dreamed of.
